National Genetic Technology (NGT) is now Hermitage NGT, a Hermitage Pedigree Pigs LTD franchise. This is much more than just a name change. We are continuing the rigorous internal genetic testing and selection programs that you have come to expect from us. However, this program is now dramatically enhanced because of the introduction of Hermitage Hyperprolific genetic lines through artificial insemination and the importation of animals from Ireland.

In January of 2005, we began to receive Hermitage GGP and GP semen direct from the AI stations in Ireland. In July of 2005, we brought Hermitage Hyperprolific GGP and GP maternal line boars to the Hermitage NGT AI stations here in the USA.

The transition to 100% Hermitage lines is progressing smoothly.  All animals offered for sale at this time are at least 50% Hermitage genetics.  A few crossbred animals being farrowed at this time are 75% Hermitage.  In addition, the first 100% Hermitage animals are being farrowed now.

We have immediate availability of Hermitage Hyperprolific Large White and Landrace semen from our High-Health boar studs in Nebraska.  Next-day (second day) shipment is available throughout the United States.

Swine producers throughout Europe are achieving remarkable improvement in production and profitability by switching to Hermitage genetics.  Several methods have been utilized:  purchasing gilts, implementing an internal gilt production system and or using maternal semen in a rotational crossing scheme.
